Getting tired of unfinished books. 3 in a row and no ending. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'm done buying your books.

The Agent is another entertaining read from Mark Dawson. Now in her third installment, Isabella Rose continues to develop as one of my favorite series characters. The book falls back on proven Mark Dawson formula: tight, non-stop action with little time for boring filler. The result is a tale that, intellectually, isn't that deep. But that's not what I read Dawson for. This is an easy-reading, quick, action-packed, fun-filled ride. That said, there are some facets regarding the nature of the story's main antagonist that are interesting to explore. An, toward the end of the book, we get a hint into the nature of Isabella herself, that will be interesting to delve into deeper in subsequent installments. If I had one criticism, it was that Isabella once again plays a somewhat supporting role through most of the novel. I enjoy seeing her kick ass on her own, as she has on occasion in previous books, rather than simply as Michael Pope's sidekick. Pope himself is interesting enough to carry his own story. I'd like to see Isabella Rose doing that also. The prequel stories of her mother, Beatrix, operating on her own while on the run in exile, were some of my favorite Mark Dawson stories.

I found book 3 better than book 2; the story was more cohesive, the characters developed into a better group of cohorts. Pope's family was rescued , but of course those plans were not as simple and straight forward as they should have been... and then Pope was dealing with the untrustworthy group who had used both him and Isabella as unwitting pawns in their grand scheme against a man they had framed , purporting that He had been the operating for being a series of suicide bombs on Great Britain- untrue ,of course, but it had unwittingly put Pope and Isabella smack in the middle of the wrong side! In the end, Pope's family was reunited. But Isabella had been seriously wounded, so she did not escape with Pope's family. The unexpected twist at the end comes as Maia, a biological product of Daedelus, the ones who sought to kill Pope and had engineered the super person, Maria, must have had their mitts on Isabella in all those years that they had kidnapped her from her mother, Beatrix - lead lady from other novels by Dawson. I apologize if my recounting sounds a bit odd to yoj... just read Dawson's works and things won't seem quite so strange. He make the science-fiction plausible!

I am cheating here. I have read all three books in the Isabella Series but am now just writing one review for all three of them. This has been a great series. Of course you cannot take these three books by themselves. You have to take them in context with the Beatrix Rose series. You have to feel sorry for but yet admire Isabella. She has not had an easy life and then these things happen to her in this series. All three books are heart pounding, non stop reading and then with an interesting and twisty end with hopefully more yet to come.If you like suspense, twist and turns, long reading into the early morning hours then this series is for you. If you have not read the Beatrix Rose series yet, do those first as well as the 3 book series of Beatrix's time in Hong Kong which is the time before the Beatrix Rose series begins. As you can tell there is a lot of history here to these two characters. AND yet even more but I will cover that in my review of Dawson's books on John Milton and one in particular called "The Ghost". More of that in my next review.

Absolutely marvelous, I miss her mother but Isabella is a treat. Joining forces with Pope to find his familyThis book was exciting fast-paced and intriguing with a spellbinding ending included. I'm glad she has a bionic friend she can trust. Maia has broken forever bonds that would've controled her and now put her in a deadly situation with her creators and former employers.A spellbinding cliff hanging ending… I can't wait for the next in the series. No time for you to have cocktails get back to the computer and continue the adventures,Thank you so much for the diversion from daily life,Can't wait to read the Phoenix ,aloha Richard

The Agent is the 3rd in the Isabella Rose series. Michael Pope and Isabella continue to run from their pursurers.....figuring out who the bad guys are along the way. Many twists and turns. I read this book in 2 days as I couldn't put it down. I won't spoil it by giving away any of the plot but I could have never guessed where this was going. There is a real ending to this novel......but I still didn't know for sure what happened to the lead characters....so I immediately downloaded #4.....The Assassin and am reading through it.This series is soooo good. Don't Miss It

I just finished reading all three parts of Dawson's 'The Agent'. The action is fast-paced with snappy dialogue, lots of bad guys who you initially believe are good guys, shadowy plots with incredibly sinister plans for the near future of warfare, government secrets, foot chases, car chases, close calls, mysterious telephone calls & texts, frightening medical experiments...if this sounds like the kind of espionage thriller you enjoy, by all means GET THIS THREE BOOK SET! You will not be disappointed. And Dawson being the crafty, skilled, and clever writer that he is, the end of book three leaves a huge opening for sequels. Some parts of the mystery are solved and there is a degree of satisfaction from a heartfelt reunion but there remains plenty of intrigue left unsettled.
